Dr. Emily Bowers received both her Bachelor of
Science and Doctor of Veterinary medicine degrees from Purdue
University. Dr. Bower’s joined the practice as a doctor in June 2007,
however had worked as a veterinary assistant here since 2001. Dr.
Bowers’ interests include the canine and feline urinary tract,
anesthesia, pain management and clinical pathology. Dr. Bowers also
enjoys surgery.
During her senior year of vet school, Dr. Bowers
received the Pfizer Award for Excellence and Clinical Proficiency in
Anesthesia/Analgesia and the IDEXX Award for Exceptional Proficiency in
Diagnostic Clinical Pathology. Dr. Bowers was also the 2007 recipient of
the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) Small Animal Clinical
Proficiency Award. Dr. Bowers is a member of the American Association of
Feline Practitioners (AAFP), International Academy of Veterinary Pain
Management (IVAPM) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care
Society (VECCS). Additionally, Dr. Bowers is a member of Phi Zeta
Society (veterinary honor society) and Gamma Sigma Delta (honor society
of agriculture).
Dr. Bowers shares her home with her husband, Kevin,
Jack Russell Terrier, Sullivan and calico cat, Lucy. In her spare time,
Dr. Bowers enjoys cycling with her husband and playing Nintendo Wii.
