Dr. Levy, owner of Pets and Vets as Partners, graduated from veterinary school at the University of Montreal in 1979. She did a post doctorate internship in medicine at the University of Montreal in 1980. Dr. Levy received her Masters degree in Gastroenterology at the University of Florida in 1987. She designed and built Pets and Vets as Partners in 1996. Dr. Levy’s interests are in strengthening the human-animal bond, gastroenterology, geriatrics and animal assisted therapy. Her involvement in the community includes being a founding team member in the CHAPS program (Children and Horses As PartnerS), as well as the Kid’s First program (awareness program for children regarding different disabilities) and the Caring Paws program (animal assisted therapy and activities). Dr. Levy served as Chairman of the Service and Therapy Animals Committee of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. She and her
two dogs, Shadow and Kaya, are certified Pet Partners from the Delta Society for Animal Assisted Therapy and Activities. Dr. Levy also served on the Board of the Arc of Tippecanoe County, serving individuals with developmental disabilities, and is a COVOH Partner (Council of Volunteers and Organizations for Hoosiers with Disabilities).
Dr. Levy’s family includes Shadow (Male Golden Retriever Mix),
and Kaya (Female Rottweiler Puppy). In addition, Dr. Levy has two children, Marianne and Nicolas. Dr. Levy’s husband, Michel, teaches at the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine specializing in large animals.
